When I started my book I put thousands of words together, lots of statistics and many, many quotes and resources. But I felt lost. I could not find a thread that would create the message I wanted to present. I knew I had a message, but I just could not seem to visualize it.
For help I reached out to a friend who had successfully written and published two books. He told me about Robin Coleman.
Robin was amazing. His ability to get key information about what I wanted to say and to place it in an orderly fashion for me to follow made me feel confident that I was in the right place.
Every meeting was structured, and it always ended with a detailed description of what I needed to get done for our next session. The pace was tight but comfortable. Robin helped me understand my style and schedule for writing; he continued to teach me skills to become a disciplined writer, to trust myself, my thoughts and my expertise in the subject matter. The greatest skill I learned was how to tell a story, to use all elements present to make the reader feel as if they were there.
Today I feel much more confident as a writer, and I know that I will always use the lessons Robin taught me.
